The programme differs from most available software in that it has several special features:

Gamma-W uses a set of automatic regioning algorithms to ensure that regions are defined with no major discontinuities (such as a Compton edge) and that region limits do not interfere with tails of possible peak structures. The results of the algorithms are handled with hierarchial fuzzy-logic.
Gamma-W analyses the external background peaks contribution and subtracts the background peak countrates with associated uncertainties from the sample spectrum. In this way proper propagation of uncertainties is ensured.
Gamma-W supplies nuclear library data stemming from the most up-to-date data available.
